The York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office is seeking information on a Friday purse theft in Yorktown where an expensive insulin pump was taken.
Sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m., a purse left underneath some clothing near the pier at Yorktown Beach was taken. The purse contained several "electronic items" and a black colored Mini-Med Paragon insulin pump, said Sgt. Dennis Ivey Jr., a sheriff's office investigator.
Ivey valued the pump at $6,000. It automatically feeds insulin through tubing to a diabetic person.
