DUBAI — Dr Hanif Hassan, Minister of Health, has said that his ministry concentrates on educational and training of all medical and technical employees in its hospitals and health centres to develop their skills and prepare them to face the challenges of the healthcare sector.
The minister assured that the ministry’s new strategy depends on launching initiatives to meet the aspirations of the federal government in developing the skills of its human resources through partnerships with public and private sectors.
This was announced by the minister during a ceremony for concluding a cooperation agreement between the UAE Ministry of Health and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologist (AACE) to develop the administrative and technical skills of the ministry’s employees as well as endocrinologists and specialists in the treatment of diabetes. The signing ceremony held in the ministry’s office in Dubai was also attended by Dr Salem Al Darmaki, Acting Director-General of the ministry, and top officials.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Mahmood Fikri, Executive Director for Health Policies at the ministry, Professor Enrique Caballero, Endocrinology and Diabetes Specialist in Harvard College of Medicine, and Dr Omar Al Sadek, Director of Medu Knowledge.
Dr Fikri said: “The ministry aims at building the capabilities of its employees and developing the technical skills of doctors who are specialised in diabetes and endocrinology.” —
